PORTLAND RADIO GROUP PROGRAMMING ASSISTANT

The Portland Radio Group (WPOR, WCLZ, WYNZ, WMGX, WGAN, WGIN, WZAN, and WBAE) is an 8 station cluster in Southern Maine.  We are looking for a programming assistant to join our staff and assist with all stations.  This is an entry level position but you should have some experience with production software such as Adobe, Audacity or Pro Tools.  Some on air experience will also be helpful.  Attention to detail is critical and a pro-active attitude will be an asset. 560 WGAN NEWS DIRECTOR

Saga Communications-owned Newsradio 560 WGAN in Portland, Maine is the market leader for radio news coverage and is seeking a news director to lead one of the state’s largest radio news teams while maintaining and building upon its long track record of excellence.  Responsibilities include:

  • Hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling of news staff
  • Overseeing news and traffic operations for all 8 Portland Radio Group stations
  • Coordinating storm and breaking news coverage
  • Maintaining and cultivating WGAN’s online and social media presence.

PORTLAND RADIO GROUP INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Portland Radio Group, a group of 8 radio stations located in South Portland, Maine, has limited internship opportunities.  These positions are designed for individuals who are in college with an interest in communications/media and who are eligible to receive school credit.  You will be assisting the promotions department, and other opportunities include the production, programming, news and business department.  Photoshop skills are a plus.  Hours are part time, during business hours but may include weekend and evening work.  Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are important.  If interested then please send resume to intern@portlandradiogroup.com.

 

PART TIME RADIO NEWS REPORTER/ANCHOR

The Portland Radio Group, located in South Portland, Maine, part of Saga Communications, has an immediate part-time opening for a News Reporter/Anchor at WGAN-AM. If you have a passion for news, then we should talk.

Responsibilities include:

  • Anchoring news casts
  • Updating WGAN’s website and social media platforms
  • Swing duty anchoring news and traffic reports on WGAN and its sister stations

We focus on the latest stories along with regular enterprise reporting.  We feature news on air, online and on location.  Take the next step in your broadcast career. Knowledge of digital audio production systems will be helpful.

The Portland Radio Group has an immediate opening for a part time entry level position in the programming department. We are looking for an individual who wants to be in broadcasting. Your responsibilities can include assisting promotions, monitoring broadcasts, and learning to produce commercials. This position will require working weekends and special events.
